Introduction:

LA based Artist Meg Jorgenson will lead a two hour interactive class. She will share her approach to abstract impressionism through her foraged  earth pigments using nature as our template.

Outline:

In this workshop the intention is to explore visual expression through painting with an emphasis on earth pigments. This portion of my practice as an artist is radical in reintroducing our interconnectedness to ourselves, each other and the land.

Encounters: Response to earth pigments and imagery

Color Theory and Light : Blending and shade techniques

Composition: The way strokes are arranged to create balance or meaning

Play: Fundamental to exploring freeform and abstraction
